These are all recipes from the Roman Empire (covering the period 500 BCE to 400 CE) and derive across the Roman empire. Though many of the recipes derive from Apicius' De re coquinaria ('On the Subject of Cooking'), [late 4th century], I have sought to find and present recipes here from as many classical sources as possible to give you a cross-section of Roman foods and Roman cooking methods.
