The form below allows you to search for recipes by original name, English name, period of the recipe, site section and meal at which it should be served. Recipes are sorted by the original name, by the English translation of that name, by the source/origin of the recipe, by the period from which the recipe derives (essentially the Ancient Period [mainly stone age and Iron age], Roman Period, Medieval Period, Elizabethan period and Modern Recipes [my favourite recipes from all corners of the world]) and by the type of meal the recipe is designed for. At the very bottom of the page you will see a search box that allows you to the Celtnet recipe database by the name of the dish and/or by the ingredients used. Once the results are returned, simply click on the original name of the dish which will link you through to the full recipe page.
Once you have selected a dish, or a meal type or even an historic period click on the 'submit' button and your results will be displayed below simply click on the appropriate 'original name' wich appears in blue and you will be taken immediately to the recipe itself. As well as the search facility below you can aslo use the navigation menu on the left to hunt for your recipe. Hovering your mouse over one of the sections will give you a cascading submenu giving the a section of a meal. Hovering on this will give you a list of dishes. All levels are clickable and will instantly take you to the page representing the appropriate level. The code to drive this menu is based on CSS and you can find out how to implement it on your own site.
In addition, you can use the text search box below the table to search for a specific dish or a dish based on a combination of ingredients, or a combination of ingredients and a portion of the dishe's name or even the courtry of origin and an ingredient. Bascially any combination of keywords you'd like to use.
