Yellow Coconut Rice Recipe

Origin: Tanzania      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

500ml coconut milk
400g rice
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground cardamom
2 tbsp butter

Yellow Coconut Rice Preparation:


Method:

Add the coconut milk and milk together in a large pan and bring to the boil before adding the rice and spices. Reduce to a simmer, cover and cook until the liquid has been absorbed and the rice is tender. Stir-in the butter and serve as an accompaniment to a main meal.
