Waykaab Recipe

Origin: Sudan      Period: Traditional

Ingredients

500ml milk
1 tbsp wayka (okra powder)
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt

Waykaab Preparation:


Method:

Add the milk to a pan and bring to a boil before adding the salt and baking powder. Continue cooking until the liquid turns yellow then add the okra powder and cook for about 2 minutes, or until the milk turns slimy.

Serve with kissra.

As a guide 1 US cup of flour = 4 1/2 oz = 140g (this applies to breadcrumbs, ground almonds etc
