Tsebhi Shiro
(Spicy Peanuts) Recipe

Origin: Eritrea      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

500g raw dry peanuts
100g butter
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 small onions
2 tsp mixed spices (your choice)
salt and black pepper to taste

(Spicy Peanuts) Preparation:


Method:

Shell the peanuts, clean and grind to a fine powder. Add all the remaining ingredients to a saucepan with 500ml water. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes. Then add the peanuts and cook for a further 20 minutes.

Serve with Injeera.
