Tirana Romaine Salad Recipe

Origin: Albania      Period: Traditional

This is a classic Albanian salad that's traditionally served as a starter, though it also makes a rather wonderful accompaniment to meatballs and barbecued meat.

Ingredients:

1 head romaine lettuce
1 bunch spring onions, chopped
2 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice

Tirana Romaine Salad Preparation:


Method:

Thoroughly wash the lettuce leaves then rip into bite-sized pieces. Add to the base ofa salad bowl then scatter the spring onions over the top. Decorate with the sliced egg and season liberally. Just before serving drizzle the olive oil and lemon juice over everything.
