Ingredients
500g chickpeas
Tamia Preparation:Method:Allow the chickpeas to soak in plenty of water for at least 3 hours (preferably longer) then drain and place in a pln with plenty of water. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, then cook until tender (about 2 hours). Drain, allow to cool, then mash along with the finely-chopped garlic, onion, bell pepper and coriander. Soak the bread in water until soft, drain wring and chop then add to the chickea mixture along with the flour. Add the spices, season with salt and black pepper, then stir to combine and set aside for 15 minutes. Once rested, mix in the baking powder then shape with wet hands into a rough disk. Sprinkle the sesame seeds on top and gently pat into the surface. Deep fry until golden and serve with fuul. |
