This is the Bulgarian version of the breakfast dish known variously as French Toast or 'eggy bread'. Ingredients:
6 thick slices of bread
Sultan's Slices Preparation:Method:Beat the eggs in a shallow dish then melt the butter in a large frying pan. Dip the bread in the beaten egg so that both sides are coated then transfer to the frying pan and cook in the hot butter. Fry the bread on both sides until crisp and brown then place on individual plates, top with honey and season with cinnamon. Serve hot. |
