Pan-fried Steak with Garlicky Mushrooms and Noodles Recipe

Origin: Britain      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

100g Chinese egg noodles
3 garlic cloves, crushed
225g button mushrooms, thickly sliced
50g butter
2 steaks
1 tbsp chopped parsley
salt and black pepper, to taste

Pan-fried Steak with Garlicky Mushrooms and Noodles Preparation:


Method:

Cook the noodles in boiling water. Meanwhile heat a quarter of the butter in a pan and add the steaks. Cook them briefly to seal the outsides then reduce the heat and continue cooking to the desired level of 'doneness', turning frequently. When ready, remove from the pan and set aside to keep warm.

Add the remaining butter to the pan then add the mushrooms and garlic. Cook, stirring frequently, until golden brown then season to taste. Drain the noodles and add to the pan and lightly toss to combine with the mushroom mixture. Slice the steaks at an angle. Plate-out the noodle mixture and arrange the meat on top. Garnish with the parsley and serve.
