(Meat Patties) Recipe

Origin: Moldova      Period: Traditional

Ingredients

350g minced meat (beef, chicken or pork)
1 egg
1 onion, finely chopped
150g bread
1 garlic clove, chopped
salt and freshly-ground black pepper
1 tsp paprika
flour to dust
oil for frying


Pirjoale
(Meat Patties) Preparation:


Method:

Tear the bread into pieces then soak in water until soft. Squeeze the excess water out then add to a bowl along with the meat, egg, onion and garlic. Season with salt, black pepper and paprika then mix everything thoroughly and shape into round patties about 1cm thick.

Heat oil in a pan and when hot dust the meat patties with flour. Fry for about 10 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Serve hot.
