Pineapple Fritters RecipeOrigin: Britain Period: Traditional |
Ingredients:
1 tin of pineapple rings, well drained
Pineapple Fritters Preparation:Method:Halve and pit the plums then set aside. Begin by preparing the fritter batter. Sift the flour and salt into a bowl then form a well in the centre then add the lukewarm water and the butter and stir in to combine. Mix until the batter is smooth. Immediately before use add the egg whites to a clean and dry bowl then whip until stiff then fold into the batter. Add oil to a wok or deep fryer and heat to 180°C. Using a skewer. spear a pineapple ring then dip in the batter. Allow any excess batter to drain away then gently lower into the hot oil. Cook until the fritter is golden brown and crisp. Drain on kitchen paper then dust liberally with icing sugar and serve. |
