Mixed Wild Greens with Poppy Seed Dressing Recipe

Origin: Britain      Period: Traditional

Ingredients

100ml plain yoghurt
1 tbsp honey
2 tsp orange juice
2 tsp wild poppy seeds
1/2 tbsp cider vinegar
black pepper, to taste
100g wild mustard greens
60g chickweed, tops only

30g wild garlic, roughly torn

40g hairy bittercress

4 leaves garlic mustard

8 hawthorn or violet or primrose blossoms
3 tbsp sea purslane
20g greater plantain leaves
80g wild watercress, washed
80g cherry tomatoes, halved

Mixed Wild Greens with Poppy Seed Dressing Preparation:


Method:

Method

Make the dressing by whisking together the yoghurt, honey, orange juice, poppy seeds and vinegar. Season liberally with the black pepper.

Combine all the greens in a bowl, add the dressing and toss gently.
