Baked Millet Biscuits Recipe

Origin: Kenya      Period: Traditional

Ingredients

100g sorghum/pearl millet flour
100g wheat flour
115g margarine
150g white sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Baked Millet Biscuits Preparation:


Method:

Cream the margarine and sugar together then beat-in the egg. Add the flours along with all the other dry ingredients and cream to a smooth batter. Place the batter in a refrigerator over night then roll out on a cold board to a thickness of about 6mm and cut into rounds using a pastry cutter.

Place these on a greased baking tray and bake in an oven pre-heated to 200°C for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown all over.
