Bayerische Schweinekotletts der Mikrowelle
(Microwave Bavarian Pork Chops) Recipe

Origin: German      Period: Traditional

This is a version of the cassic German Bayerishce Schweinekotletts (Bavarian Pork Chops)that's been adapted for the microwave.

Ingredients:

500g sauerkraut, drained
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 dessert spoon nutmeg
1 dessert spoon salt (optional)
1 dessert spoon black pepper
1/4 tsp caraway seed
1 medium apple, diced
4 lean pork chops (about 1/5cm thick)
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Bayerische Schweinekotletts der Mikrowelle
(Microwave Bavarian Pork Chops) Preparation:


Method:

In an 20 x 20cm baking dish, combine the sauerkraut, vinegar, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, pepper, caraway and apple. Top this with the pork chops. Brush each chop with Worcestershire sauce then cover the entire dish with greaseproof (waxed) paper.

Microwave at High 5 minutes then rearrange the chops and turn over. Reduce the power to 50% (medium) and microwave 5 to 15 minutes, or until meat near bone is no longer pink.
