Libyan Aseeda RecipeOrigin: Libya Period: Traditional |
Ingredients:
280g whole-meal (brown) flour
Libyan Aseeda Preparation:Method:Combine the water and salt in a wide pan and gently heat. Stir-in the olive oil then, whilst stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, add the flour. Continue stirring until all the flour has been incorporated and the mixture is smooth. Bring to a simmer then take off the heat. Transfer to a large bowl and continue beating with the spoon until it becomes smooth and thick. Return to the pan and bring back to a simmer. Cook gently for 10 minutes, beating with the spoon all the while, until the mixture thickens. Take off the heat and turn into a serving bowl. Garnish with melted butter or honey and serve. |
