Kalamar Tava
(Turkish Tartar Sauce for Seafood) Recipe

Origin: Turkey      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

45g walnuts or pine nuts, ground
70g breadcrumbs (made from day-old bread)
2 garlic cloves, minced
250ml plain yoghurt
2 tbsp olive oil
salt and black pepper, to taste


Kalamar Tava
(Turkish Tartar Sauce for Seafood) Preparation:


Method:

Combine all the ingredients together in a bowl and whisk to combine. Allow to sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

This is the classic Turkish accompaniment for fried calamari, fried mussels or grilled fish.
