Grzyby w śmietanie
(Mushrooms with Sour Cream) Recipe

Origin: Poland      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

6 tbsp butter
1 large onion, chopped
2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp milk
360ml sour cream
675g mushrooms, sliced
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika

(Mushrooms with Sour Cream) Preparation:


Method:

Melt hte butter in a large frying pan or skillet then add the onion and fry until golden (about 8 minutes). Sprinkle the flour over the surface and stir to form a smooth roux then whisk in the milk and 180ml of the sour cream. Bring the mixture just to a simmer then add the sliced mushrooms before seasoning with the salt, black pepper and paprika.

Cover the pan and simmer gently for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Now stir in the remaining sour cream and allow the dish to heat through, stirring constantly. Serve immediately, accompanied with rice.
