Glüehwein RecipeOrigin: Germany Period: Traditional |
IngredientsThis is the recipe for classic German mulled wine, served at Christmas Fairs throughout Europe.
60 g sugar
Glüehwein Preparation:Method:Combine the cinnamon, cloves and lemon peel in a muslin bag and tie securely. Add to a pan along with the water and sugar then bring to a boil. Take off the heat and set aside to infuse for 20 minutes. At te end of this time remove the flavourings then add the red wine and return to the heat. Bring the mixture up to the boil, but do not allow the mixture to actally boil (the most important thing about making glüehwein is that the wine must never boil). Add lemon juice to taste and serve in heat-proof glasses. Find more Christmas Recipes Here |
