Ginger Sherbet RecipeOrigin: America Period: Traditional |
|
American-style sherbets are very similar to sorbets in that they are basically frozen fruit juices, however sherbets tend to either have milk added before freezing or contain gelatine and this gives the product an extra creaminess. Ingredients:
1l water
Ginger Sherbet Preparation:Method:Chop the ginger as finely as you can then add to a pan along with the sugar and water. Bring the mixture to a boil then continue boiling for 15 minutes before taking off the heat. Add the fruit juices then strain into a bowl. Allow to cool completely before pouring the resultant mixture into the bowl of an ice cream machine and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions. |
