French Coffee Recipe

Origin: Liqueur Coffee      Period: Traditional

French Coffee is a recipe for a classic after-dinner Liqueur coffee that's one of a range of coffees, topped with cream flavoured with spirits or liqueurs.

Ingredients:

40ml French Brandy
80ml Hot Coffee
30ml Fresh Cream
1 tsp brown sugar

None

French Coffee Preparation:

Method:

Pour the French Brandy and coffee into a heat proof (Irish Coffee) glass and stir-in the sugar. Heat over a burner (but do not allow to boil). Set the glass down, take a spoon and set just over the surface of the coffee. Pour the cream over the back of the spoon so tht it floats on top of the coffee as a separate layer then serve.
