Flat Cat Cookies RecipeOrigin: America Period: Traditional |
Ingredients
600g Sugar Cookie dough
Flat Cat Cookies Preparation:Method:Draw the pattern of a squashed cat on a cardboard template. Turn the dough onto a lightly-floured surface and roll out to about 1cm thick. Using your template cut the dough out with a round-ended butter knife. When done roll the dough again and cut more cat shapes out. Using a spatula or palette knife transfer the dough onto a lightly-oiled baking tray. Place in an oven pre-heated to 170°C and bake for about 12 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool. Whilst the cookies are cooling count enough of the cinnamon candies to give each cat two eyes and a nose. Flatten the candies between two spoons to give the right shape then, after the cookies have cooled for about 3 minutes press in the eyes and nose. Dribble a little of the jam over the cat shapes to resemble blood then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Depending on the size of your cat you should end up with about 20 dead cats.
