Easter Ham Slice Recipe

Origin: America      Period: Traditional

Ingredients

300g mashed, cooked sweet potatoes (hot)
120ml apple sauce
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 centre-cut ham slices, about 1cm thick
120ml lemon juice
100g brown sugar

Easter Ham Slice Preparation:


Method:

Combine the potatoes, apple sauce and cinnamon. Spoon over one of the ham slices in the base of a pan. Place the remaining slice over the potato mixture. Place in an oven pre-heated to 170°C and bake for 1 hour. Combine lemon juice, sugar and 2 tablespoons pan drippings and use this to baste the ham well. Bake for a further 15 minutes then slice to serve.
