Crockpot Bourbon Breast of Chicken Recipe

Origin: America      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

4 chicken breasts
45g flour
1/2 tsp paprika
sea salt
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp oil
2 tbsp onion, chopped
2 tbsp parsley, chopped
1/4 tsp dried chervil
60ml bourbon
150g button mushrooms, sliced
300g tinned tomatoes
1/4 tsp sugar

Crockpot Bourbon Breast of Chicken Preparation:


Method:

Season the flour with sea salt and paprika and use to coat the chicken. Combine the butter and oil in a frying pan and use to fry the chicken on both sides until golden. Add the onion, parsley and chervil and fry for 1 minute then remove from the heat and transfer the contents of the pan to your slow cooker (crockpot).

Combine all the remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour over the chicken. Cover and cook on low for between 6 and 7 hours. Serve hot on a bed of rice or noodles.
