Ingredients:
450g small dry white beans (eg haricot beans)
Crockpot Boston Baked Beans Preparation:Method:Rinse and pick over the beans then place in a bowl and cover with plenty of water. Set aside to soak over night. Drain the beans then place in a pan and cover with water allowing 5cm of water over the beans. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes then take off the heat and allow to stand for 1 hour. Drain the beans then place in a 5l crockpot along with 660ml water. Stir-in all the remaining ingredients (except the salt) then cover and cook on low for about 14 hours, or until the beans are tender. Season with salt and serve. |
