Crockpot Baked Beans Recipe

Origin: America      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

800g canellini beans, coked (tinned is fine)
800g black beans, cooked (tinned is fine)
800g red kidney beans, cooked (tinned is fine)
400g chickpeas, cooked (tinned is fine)
2 onions, diced
2 tbsp prepared mustard
240ml treacle
75g brown sugar
180ml maple syrup

Crockpot Baked Beans Preparation:


Method:

Drain the beans and set aside. Scatter the onions on the base of the crockpot then place the beans on top (do not mix). Drizzle the remaining ingredients over the top. Cook on high for about 6 hours, stirring once about 3/4 of the way through. As an option you can crumble about 400g cooked bacon over the top before you start for added flavour.
