Crockpot Autumn Pork Chops Recipe

Origin: Britain      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

6 pork chops
2 acorn squashes, peeled and cut into 5 slices crossways before de-seeding
3/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp butter, melted
110g brown sugar
a few drops of gravy browning
1 tbsp orange juice
1/2 tsp freshly-grated orange zest

Crockpot Autumn Pork Chops Preparation:


Method:

Trim any fat from the pork chops then arrange on the base of a slow cooker (crockpot). Place the squash slices on top then combine the remaining ingredients and spoon over the contents of the crockpot. Cover and cook on low for about 4 to 6 hours, or until the meat is done. Serve a pork chop for each person, accompanied by two slices of squash.
