Crockpot Apple and Brown Sugar Corned Beef Recipe

Origin: America      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

1 brisket of corned beef
1l apple juice
140g brown sugar
1 tbsp English mustard
8 small red potatoes
2 medium carrots, pared and cut into chunks
1 onion, peeled and cut into eight wedges
1/2 head of cabbage, cut into chunks

Crockpot Apple and Brown Sugar Corned Beef Preparation:


Method:

Cut the meat in half if very large then add all the ingredients to a large crockpot and stir to mix. Cook on high for between 4 and 5 hours (or betwen 8 and 10 hours on low). Remove the meat at this point and slice thinly across the grain.

Plate out the meat and surround with the vegetables. Spoon a little of the stock over the top and serve.
