Cream of Rice Pudding Recipe

Origin: Britain      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

3 tbsp long-grain white rice
6 tbsp sugar
750ml milk
a few drops of vanilla extract

Cream of Rice Pudding Preparation:


Method:

Combine all the ingredients in a bain-marie (double boiler) and cook gently until the liquid has all been absorbed (this will take about 3 hours). Take off the heat and stir-in the vanilla extract.

Either serve hot with fruit purée or fruit compote or serve cold with hot stewed fruit. If serving cold then stir-in a little cream before plating out.
