Corn Chips Recipe

Origin: America      Period: Traditional

Ingredients

120g yellow cornmeal
1/2 tsp salt
420ml boiling water
1 tsp butter


Corn Chips Preparation:


Method:

Combine the cornmeal and salt in a mixing bowl, add 240ml boiling water, stirring continuously. Add the butter and stir until melted and incorporated then add the remaining 180ml boiling water, still stirring continually. Place heaped teaspoons of the mixture onto a well-greased baking tray (making sure to allow sufficient space between them) and bake in an oven pre-heated to 230°C for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.

As a guide 1 US cup of flour = 4 1/2 oz = 140g (this applies to breadcrumbs, ground almonds etc
1 US cup of butter/margarine or sugar = 7 oz = 200g
