Ingredients:
2 tbsp Sichuan pepper
Chinese Five Spice Preparation:Method:Warm a non-stick drying pan and toast the Sichuan pepper in this until the aroma is released (about five minutes). Add the toasted Sichuan pepper and the star anise to a coffee grinder. Grind to a fine powder and sift to remove any woody stems from the Sichuan pepper. Next add the cloves, cinnamon and fennel seeds to the grinder and grind to a fine powder. Mix with the pre-ground Sichuan pepper and star anise and store in an airtight container, where it will last for several weeks. |
