Chili Chicken Recipe

Origin: America      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

3 whole chicken breasts (about 800g) de-boned and cut into 3cm strips
180g onion, chopped
180g green bell pepper, chopped
2 garlic cloves
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1kg tinned stewed tomatoes (with juice), chopped
400g hot chili beans
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp ground cumin

Chili Chicken Preparation:


Method:

Heat the olive oil in a pan and use to fry the chicken, onion, green bell pepper and garlic for about 6 minutes, or until the onion is soft. Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker (crockpot) then stir-in all the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low for about 6 hours. Serve on a bed of rice.
