Casserole Potatoes Preparation:

Method:

Butter a shallow ovenproof dish and arrange layers of potatoes in this, alternating each layer of potatoes with a thin layer of the onion. Ensure the top layer of potatoes is neatly layered then add the milk. Use the remaining butter to dot the surface then season with salt, black pepper and nutmeg. Place in an oven pre-heated to 180°C and cook for about 1 hour, or until the potatoes are tender and the top of the dish is golden brown.
