This is a classic chili in the 'Calabrese' or 'Calabrian' style, which means its made with cannelloni beans, minced beef and tomatoes with mushrooms. Ingredients:
450g minced beef
Calabrese Mushroom Chili Preparation:Method:Heat the oil in a pan and use to fry the meat, onions and peppers for about 5 minutes, or until the meat is lightly browned. Add the mushrooms, cover the pan and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Now stir-in the tomatoes, salt, black pepper, vinegar and chilli powder. Cover the can and continue cooking or 10 minutes then stir-in the beans. Cover and cook for 10 minutes further. Ladle into bowls and serve with generous chunks of bread. |
