Butter Biscuits Recipe

Origin: America      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

420g plain flour
1/2 tsp salt
4 1/2 tsp baking powder
150g butter
270ml milk

Butter Biscuits Preparation:


Method:

Sift together the flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl. Cube the butter and either rub into the flour mix or cut in with two knives. Add the milk and stir until the flour is just moistened. Take tablespoons of the batter and drop onto an ungreased baking tray, setting at least 3cm apart.

Transfer to an oven pre-heated to 200°C and bake for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool for 5 minutes then transfer to a serving plate and serve hot.
