Brussels Sprouts in Sour Cream Recipe

Origin: Belgium      Period: Traditional

Ingredients

675g small Brussels sprouts
3 slices of bacon
1 large onion, finely chopped
250ml sour cream
1/2 tsp black pepper


Brussels Sprouts in Sour Cream Preparation:


Method:

Trim and wash the sprouts then cut a cross in the base of each one with a sharp knife. Bring a pan of lightly-salted water to a boil and use to cook the sprouts for about 10 minutes, or until just tender. Drain and set aside.

Fry the bacon in a non-stick pan until the bacon releases its fat and crisps up then set aside to cool and crumble. Add the onion and fry in the bacon fat for about 5 minutes, until just soft. Add the sprouts and fry for 3 minutes then mix-in the remaining ingredients. Cook for about 4 minutes, or until warmed through then serve.
