Big Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Origin: America      Period: Traditional

Ingredients

550g plain flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
300g unsalted butter, melted
300g brown sugar
150g white sugar
2 tbsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
400g dark chocolate chips

Big Chocolate Chip Cookies Preparation:


Method:

Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt into a bowl. Meanwhile cream together the butter and sugars in another bowl until thoroughly blended. Beat together the eggs, egg yolks and vanilla extract then add to the butter mixture a little at a time, combining thoroughly after each addition. Continue beating until the mixture is light and creamy.

Fold the flour mixture into the egg mixture and mix until thoroughly blended then stir-in the chocolate chips. Drop about 2 heaped tablespoons of the batter for each cookie some 8cm apart on greased baking trays. Place in an oven pre-heated to 170°C and bake for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking trays for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
