(Beer Soup) Recipe

Origin: German      Period: Traditional

Ingredients

1½ tbsp (heaped) flour
50g butter
1l beer
1 small piece of cinnamon
sugar, to taste
2 egg yolks
15ml milk
1 white [french] loaf, toasted

(Beer Soup) Preparation:


Method:

Brown the flour in the butter, then add the beer along with the cinnamon and sugar. Bring everything to a boil. Whisk together the egg yolk and milk and stir into the hot (but no longer boiling) beer. Strain, and serve with toasted slices of bread.
