Berbere Sauce Recipe

Origin: Djibouti      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

4 tbsp Berbere spice
50g dried onions flakes
100ml groundnut oil
100m dry red wine
1 tsp paprika

Berbere Sauce Preparation:


Method:

Place the onion flakes in a coffee grinder and render to a paste. Combine with all the other ingredients and stir until the sauce thickens.

As a guide 1 US cup of flour = 4 1/2 oz = 140g (this applies to breadcrumbs, ground almonds etc
