Beef Strips in a Whisky Sauce Recipe

Origin: Scotland      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

700g sirloin steak, sliced into strips
1 tbsp butter
1 large onion, chopped
3 tbsp Drambuie (or other whisky liqueur)
3 tbsp double cream
salt and freshly-ground black pepper, to taste

Beef Strips in a Whisky Sauce Preparation:


Method:

Melt the butter in a non-stick frying pan and when hot use to stir-fry the beef strip and onion for about 8 minutes, or until the beef is browned and cooked to your taste.

Stir-in the liqueur and cook for 1 minute to evaporate the alcohol then add the cream. Heat gently to thicken slightly then season with salt and black pepper. Serve on a bed of rice, accompanied with stir-fried vegetables.
