Beef Salad Recipe

Origin: Britain      Period: Traditional

Ingredients

240g long-grain rice
3 tomatoes, blanched, peeled, and sliced
240g cooked beef, sliced thinly and cut into strips
1 tbsp finely-chopped onion
1 tsp prepared mustard
3 tbsp French Dressing
1 lettuce, washed and separated
4 tomatoes, sliced, to garnish

Beef Salad Preparation:


Method:

Bring a pan of lightly-salted water to a boil then add the rice and cook for about 12 minutes, or until tender, before draining and setting aside to cool. In a bowl, combine the tomatoes, beef and onion. Whisk together the mustard and French dressing then stir into the salad ingredients. Line a salad bowl with the lettuce, add the beef salad in the middle, garnish with the sliced tomatoes and serve.
