Beef and Courgette Burgers Recipe

Origin: Australia      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

450g minced beef
1 large courgette (zucchini), grated
1 onion, grated
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp freshly-grated ginger
1 egg, lightly beaten
salt and freshly-groudn black pepper, to taste

Beef and Courgette Burgers Preparation:


Method:

Combine the beef, courgette, onion, soy sauce, ginger and egg in a bowl. Mix with a fork and season well before shaping into patties. Place of greaseproof (waxed) paper and chill for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

After this time, heat some oil or butter in a pan and use to fry the burgers until done (about 8 minutes per side, depending on thickness). Serve on toasted burger buns garnished with lettuce, tomatoes and finely-sliced red onion rings.
