Basil Pesto Dumplings Recipe

Origin: Britain      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

200g self-raising flour
75g chilled butter, cubed
60ml milk
2 tbsp basil pesto

Basil Pesto Dumplings Preparation:


Method:

Sift the flour into a bowl then add the butter and use your fingertips to rub into the flour mixture until the combination resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add the milk and use a knife to cut into the flour until evenly combined. Add the pesto and mix until smooth. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll into balls.

Either sit on top of a soup or stew and bake for about 15 minutes or cook in a pan of lightly-salted boiling water for 15 minutes.
