Basic Sugar Syrup RecipeOrigin: Britain Period: Traditional |
|
This classic syrup of white sugar dissolved in water is the basis for a whole range of cocktails and should be a staple in your refrigerator. It's also ridiculously easy to make. Ingredients:
500g granulated sugar
Basic Sugar Syrup Preparation:Method:Add the water to a pan and bring to a boil. Whilst whisking continuously, add the sugar in a steady stream and continue whisking until all the sugar has dissolved. As soon as you can no longer see any sugar crystals, take the pan off the heat. Set aside to cool completely then bottle and store. Use as the sugar base for your cocktails. |
