Ingredients:
4 large bananas, peeled
Bananas en Croute Preparation:Method:Halve the bananas lengthways and place in shallow dish. Sprinkle the lemon juice over the top and set aside to soak for 1 hour. Blend together the caster sugar, lemon zest and cinnamon and set aside. Remove the crusts from the bread then melt 15g of the butter in a frying pan and use to fry the bananas on both sides until golden brown. Toast and butter the bread then sprinkle with the cinnamon and lemon sugar. Lay the bananas on top of the bread and sprinkle with the chopped nuts. Scatter a little brown sugar over the top, place under a hot grill (broiler) for 2 minutes and serve. |
