Baker's Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Origin: America      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

210g plain flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp salt
150g nuts, coarsely chopped
360g dark chocolate chips
200g butter or margarine, softened
120g brown sugar
120g white granulated sugar

Baker's Chocolate Chip Cookies Preparation:


Method:

Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. In a separate bowl cream together the sugars and butter until smooth and creamy then add the beaten eggs a little at a time, combining thoroughly after each addition. Finally add the vanilla and beat into the mixture.

Blend the flour into the butter mixture combining until just moist then stir-in the nuts and chocolate chips. Drop rounded teaspoons of the mixture about 5cm apart on a ungreased baking trays and place in an oven pre-heated to 180°C. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cookies are a light golden brown then allow to cool on the baking tray before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
