Apfel Lokshen Kugel
(Apple Noodle Sweet) Recipe

Origin: German      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

240g medium egg noodles
50g grape seed (or other flavoursome) oil
4 eggs, beaten
3 medium apples
50g dark, seedless, raisins
50g sugar
1½ tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

(Apple Noodle Sweet) Preparation:


Method:

Cook and drain noodles before placing in a large bowl. Stir in the oil and eggs then peel and chop the apples. Rinse the raisins in hot water and drain. Combine all the ingredients together, add seasoning and mix well.

Pour the kugel mixture into a greased 22 x 30cm baking pan. Bake in an oven pre-heated to 170°C for 40-60 minutes or until lightly browned. Note: for extra softness, add 2 more eggs.
