Ingredients:
500ml milk, scalded
Amish Bread Pudding Preparation:Method:Combine the milk and butter, stir until the butter has melted then allow to cool until lukewarm. Combine the eggs, sugar salt and butter and beat together until creamy. Slowly add the milk mixture to the egg mix, stirring all he while. When all the milk has been incorporated scatter the bread in a buttered baking dish or casserole (about 1.5l) sprinkle the raisins over the top and pour the milk batter over everything. Allow to sit and soak into the bread for 15 minutes then place in an oven pre-heated to 180°C and bake for 50 minutes, or until set and golden. Serve hot with a lemony sauce. |
