Amish Biscuits Recipe

Origin: America      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

240g butter
240ml vegetable oil
180g granulated sugar
180g icing sugar
2 eggs, beaten well
800g flour
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp vanilla extract

Amish Biscuits Preparation:


Method:

Mix all the ingredients together and add 1 tsp vanilla extract. Mix this in thoroughly then grease a baking tray. Drop spoonfulls of the mixture onto the tray, leaving at least 2cm between them then bake in an oven pre-heated to 180°C for 10 minutes. Store in an air-tight container.

As a guide 1 US cup of flour = 4 1/2 oz = 140g (this applies to breadcrumbs, ground almonds etc
