American Breakfast Pancakes RecipeOrigin: America Period: Traditional |
|
These are intended to be thick breakafast pancakes (as in the US) rather than thin crepe-style pancakes. Ingredients:
250g plain flour
American Breakfast Pancakes Preparation:Method:Sift the flour, baking powder and sugar into a bowl mix gently (to ensure the pancakes are light) then add the remaining ingredients and mix into a batter. Lightly butter a heated frying pan and add ladlefuls of batter. When bubbles start to form on the surface of the pancakes flip them over and fry for 1 minute further. Pile them up on a plate and keep warm in an oven as you finish cooking the remaining batter. Serve with plenty of butter and a jug of maple syrup or runny honey. |
