Almond Bark Recipe

Origin: America      Period: Traditional

Classic American almond bark is a mix of white chocolate with slivered almonds, but you can also make this with milk or plain chocolate, depending on your preference.

Ingredients:

400g white, plain or milk chocolate
300g blanched, slivered, almonds

Almond Bark Preparation:


Method:

Break or chop the chocolate into pieces and add to a bain-marie (double boiler). Heat gently over low heat until the chocolate has melted then stir-in the almonds. Take the mixture off the heat and pour onto a lightly-buttered baking tray. Spread out with a spatula then set aside to harden before breaking into chunks.

As a guide 1 US cup of flour = 4 1/2 oz = 140g (this applies to breadcrumbs, ground almonds etc
1 US cup of butter/margarine or sugar = 7 oz = 200g
